No money has been given to Saltaire by the region's quango set up to bring investment and jobs to the area - while other World Heritage Sites have been handed millions.

Information given to Shipley MP Philip Davies shows development agency Yorkshire Forward has not paid out any cash to either Saltaire or Studley Royal in North Yorkshire.

Shipley's MP will today demand the Government stops taxing bingo at a higher rate than other gambling venues amid fears more halls will close and more jobs lost.

MP Philip Davies said bingo was under threat because of high taxes.

He will tonight call for lower taxation to allow the"hugely important social interaction" activity to secure a future.

MPs across Bradford are united in their belief that wrongly-claimed expenses must be paid back.

A retrospective audit of MPs' expenses over the last five years by Sir Thomas Legg has thrown up queries about claims made by some of the district's MPs - however they appear to be due to administrative errors.

MPs for Wharfedale and Aireborough are not being asked to repay expenses claims, as scrutiny of MPs' claims goes on nationally.

The MPs for the Keighley, Leeds North West, Pudsey and Shipley constituencies have received letters from Sir Thomas Legg, who has carried out an independent audit of expenses for the House of Commons.
