Praise for help of Faith Groups

Faith groups across the district have been praised again in Parliament for their help in dealing with the aftermath of the floods. In a debate on the importance of faith groups to the voluntary sector in local communities Mr Davies expressed thanks for the support his constituents received during the Christmas period. He said: “Over Christmas when we had the terrible floods in Yorkshire, some of the people who helped the most in our communities were some of the faith based organisations, if I can particularly mention the Salvation Army and the mosques in Bradford that came over to my constituency to help with the clear up. They also play a vital role when there is an emergency such as flooding.” Mr Davies previously praised the outstanding work of the Army and other voluntary organisations in emergency flooding debates and statements in Parliament.
