AN MP has challenged Government to scrap the system whereby prisoners who reoffend on licence are just sent back to prison for 28 days – insisting they should be serving the remainder of their original sentence.
Philip Davies MP has demanded government increase sentencing powers available to courts after a Bradford judge jailed a “complete menace” on the road to less than two years in prison – lower than half the sentence he wanted to hand out.
More must be done to ensure children see their parents after a separation and contact centres like the one in Bingley are vital in keeping families together, an MP has told Parliament during a debate on International Men’s Day.
