Philip visited the Shipley Sustainable Community Hub this week to check progress of the multi million pound renovation works made possible as part of government’s £25 million investment into Shipley.
Philip was joined by members of the Shipley Towns Fund Board to receive an update about the project, which is expected to be completed by summer 2024.
More than £2.5 million is being spent on the project which involves renovations of the Kirkgate Centre building. Once completed it will offer services to tackle social isolation, promote wellbeing and provide activities for families including cultural and art activities for people in the area.
Philip said: “It was great to visit the site and see how the work is coming along. The Shipley Sustainable Community Hub is a fantastic project and a great space and will provide a diverse range of important services for my constituents. I know it will be a great community resource and will be well used.
“This work was made possible by government funding and I am delighted that government wants to invest in Shipley as it can see how much the town has to offer and what benefits this investment can bring to my constituents.”
