The winners from the British Hero competition ran by Shipley MP Philip Davies have been presented with their prizes at a school assembly.
Two students from Myrtle Park Primary School, Bingley, Mia and Henry were chosen as winners by the judging panel, beating off competition from dozens of other children across the constituency.
Mia chose to write about the Queen and had previously been sent four tickets to pantomime and also received an art set during the assembly. Henry wrote about Guy Gibson, the first Commanding Officer of the famous 617 Squadron, which was involved in the Dambusters Raid in 1943. He received four match day tickets to a Bradford City game along with a football signed by the players.
Mr Davies said: “It was a pleasure to be able to attend the assembly, together with parents, to present the awards to the children. The competition was extremely hard to judge as always, as I had so many excellent entries.
“The standard from Mia and Henry was extremely high and I enjoyed reading everything they had to say. I want to thank all the children from across the constituency who took time to enter. I know the entire judging panel were very impressed with the calibre of entries.”
Along with Mr Davies the competition was judged by Bradford Council Chief Executive Kersten England, Director of NEESIE Noreen Khan Noreen Khan, and CEO of Bradford City FC Ryan Sparks.
