Too many men at the BBC are paid eye watering salaries and should have their pay reduced to match those given to women, an MP has said.
Shipley MP Philip Davies believes the BBC is run like an old boys’ club and urgent change is needed.
Equalities Minister Amber Rudd told MPs said she will be speaking to the BBC about pay.
Mr Davies said: “When she has a word with the BBC will it be her contention that it is the men that are overpaid or the women that are underpaid?”
Mrs Rudd said: “That is almost a philosophical question, my priority is equality and that is what I will be making.”
