Immigration.

•Latest figures given by the House of Commons library – which they say are “likely to understate immigration from EU countries” – show that 2.5 million people have come here since 1991 from the EU.

•Net migration is estimated to have been at least 1.1 million since 1991.

•The number of people coming to the UK increases year on year. Between 1995 and 2003 immigration from the EU ranged from between 61,000 to 82,000 year on year. However by 2005 this figure jumped to 152,000. Latest figures show migration from EU countries to be 257,000.
